Sei. Realizing that Aoba wasn’t going to come to save them, Sei started to fall into deeper despair and pain. Something happened to Sei that they cannot control their powers anymore, making their multiple consciousness corrupt Midorijima little by little, eventually overpowering Toue’s successful takeover of the island. Sparing one last autonomous fragment of his consciousness, Sei attempts to once again make contact with Aoba and guide him to where their real body is, to terminate this nightmare once and for all.
Sei has the habit to appear in the most unusual places and vanish when nobody is looking. Sei doesn’t speak much in this current form, however, Sei is far more active than they ever was and will often help out Aoba or anyone to pick up useful tools or take the right direction. Although their powers created the mysterious fog, Sei is also a target of most of the monsters.
Aoba. He’s been in bed for months, under the care of Tae, Koujaku and everyone else, unaware of the things that happened to Midorijima. With most of his memories gone, Aoba begins to search for Ren, who is still missing, just to discover the island has been taken over by monsters, with all his friends struggling to survive.
While he doesn’t recognize Sei, Aoba feels like he should protect them whenever he can, and not only because they may guide him to where Ren is.
